Mackouwkuil is situated in the Waterberg Biosphere, Limpopo Province, an area consisting of mountainous areas, beautiful bushveld & rivers and a wide variety of wildlife. This area is malaria free and although they do not have the big five, species include exotic game such as golden Wildebeest and black Impala as well as Sable , Kudu , resident Hippos, Giraffe, Eland, Waterbuck and Crocodile together with excellent bird watching opportunities.
Rooms: 13 standard thatched rooms (13 single or 26 sharing), 12 newly refurbished luxury rooms (12 single or 24 sharing), 4 luxury tents (6 single or 10 sharing) Tents are 5* plus, 2 tents have 2 rooms each, all have outside showers, deck and 2 tents include a Jacuzzi or splash pool, 2 guesthouses (4 single or 6 sharing) Thus total of 35 single guests or 66 sharing guests. Latest addition: 2 superior staff dorm rooms (10 pax) for conference support staff/ film crews etc.
Other: Main Lodge dining area (50 guests), lapa on the water (35-50 guests) boma (20 Guests), waterside Marquees (120 guests), exclusive meeting / dining venue at tented camp (12 guests)
Conference: 1 x 35 seater and 1 x 70 seater conference room, fibre optic fast internet, standard conference equipment. The bigger conference room can be changed into a black box studio and professional film crew is available on request, lawn areas available for team building activities.
Activities: 2 x swimming pools, walking within the main lodge camp, game drives.

Directions: 3 -3.5 hours from Johannesburg / Pretoria. Mackouwkuil is situated approx 60 km North East of Vaalwater in the Waterberg, Limpopo Province. Travelling time from Pretoria to Vaalwater is approx. 2 hours / 200 km, a good quality tar road PLUS 1 hour / 60 km from Vaalwater to Mackouwkuil. The last 15 km is on a well maintained gravel road, easy driving conditions, no 4×4 required.
