Kanonkop House is a beautiful 5-star property with stunning views. Situated in Kanonkop in Knysna it is a tranquil haven overlooking the Knysna Lagoon and Heads. For-out-of-Towner’s, Kanonkop is the area just before the turn-off to Simola and before entering the central business district, from the George / Sedgefield side.
This property is owner run by dad Chris (on photo), son Mark and daughter Samantha Conyers. When Samantha introduced this property at a ‘Africa in Focus’ workshop during the latter part of 2012, describing the Paradise room as having the best view in Knysna, or no, probably, in the universe, my attention was piqued and I just had to see it with my own eyes.
Kanonkop House has 5 individually themed rooms, all charmingly appointed, each with its own character. The complimentary drinks from their guest bar together with a glorious swimming pool and sun deck is a perfect relaxing way to while away your time when taking a break from sightseeing, shopping or various sporting activities on offer in Knysna. Please note that Kanonkop has their own fishing boat, luxury speedboat for trips on the lagoon, canoes, mountain bikes and corporate membership at both Pezula and Simola golf courses. You as guest are therefore entitled to discounted rates.
For dog lovers, there are 3 very cute dogs, always interested in getting attention. Hugo, the Jack Russell is on the photo with Chris.
The Conyers are perfect hosts with attention to detail and impeccable service being their focus throughout.
In addition to Kanonkop House, there is the fully serviced 3 level, 3 bedroom & 3 bathroom Knysna Heights Villa, also owned and managed by the Conyers.
The biggest problem with Kanonkop House and Knysna Heights Villa is that you may struggle to get availability! Once again, the Conyers are at your rescue because Samantha manages a huge portfolio of privately owned villas in Knysna that is available for renting.
