On the banks of the Crocodile River you will find Avianto, ‘a village made in heaven’. Avianto was born from the need for a couple to find a wedding venue that suited their requirements. After searching and not finding the special venue the wanted, they decided to develop Avianto and turn it into a fully-fledged venue, conference centre and hotel. The property is still owned by the original owners, the D’Oliveira’s.
Today, Avianto consists of a 34 room hotel, 2 banquet halls for up to 350 guests, a chapel and a variety of smaller conference rooms up to 150 delegates. The Tuscan Style of the complex is further enhanced by extensive gardens on various levels leading down to shaded spots under the trees.
What are your plans for next Friday afternoon or the coming weekend? I can certainly recommend a leisurely picnic. Avianto provided cushions and picnic blanket with wine / sparkling fruit juice and water or other drinks if you so choose. This is accompanied by a sumptuous spread of all kinds of delicacies: mixed Greek salad, crudité plate, salmon with horseradish, caramalised onion and capers, variety of cold cuts with dips, cheese, biscuits and biltong, chicken wraps, fruit kebabs, nougat and cake squares. With the sound of the river running in the back ground and the wind through the leaves this makes for a very relaxing afternoon – an excellent way to re-connect with your spouse or getting up to date with what is happening in your best friend’s life.
After the picnic I recommend a good cappuccino at Café Cielo where we also enjoyed a light dinner. The rooms at Avianto are spacious, some with a separate lounge, lavishly furnished and includes over and above the usual plus a CD player.
Avianto is suitable for conferences, corporate breakaways, functions, weddings and last but not least a romantic breakaway.
